Dare County will update your tax-assessed property values as of January 1st, 2025. This might sound alarming, but we typically do not see a big increase in property taxes. Dare County is considered revenue neutral, and when the tax assessments go up due to a market increase, the tax rate will be adjusted to offset this increase. Dare County has a beneficial web page that addresses many common questions:  Dare County Tax Revaluation Web Page. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you have.
